I’ve also found another website whose owner has started a census of all Giant Sequoia trees in France:
http://sequoias.eu ; his website also features a page on how to grow them from seed. Reading it was very helpful: it made me realize that I’d done almost everything wrong. There’s a good chance that my seedlings will rot since I overmoisturised them.
The sequoia in your picture looks fantastic. The one I took seeds from is younger (it is "only" approximately 100 years old) but it also has those low branches curved towards the ground, though the effect is admittedly much less impressive.

J’ai aussi trouvé un autre site dont le propriétaire cherche à recenser tous les séquoias géants de France :
http://sequoias.eu ; le site comporte aussi une page sur la façon d’en cultiver de semis. La lecture a été très instructive : elle m’a permis de me rendre compte que j’avais presque tout faux. Il est assez probable que mes semis pourrissent car j’ai trop humidifié le substrat.
